i use the kmail kontact part,  and have configured kmail to "always show tray icon", but the tray icon disappears after a random (but longish, like several hours) time. when i go to kmail configuration/appearance, disable the tray icon, click apply, then enable it, click apply again, its back.

seems that http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51862 is back, at least to me.
dumb me. someone reopen bug 51862 and close this one, if thats the case.
