KFax seems to more or less dead, no devel - except maintenance - commits since at least 3 years :(
Still any users around?

As Burkhard commented (almost) 6 years ago, KFax was unmaintained then and it was officially moved to unmaintained recently:

(barely ported to Qt4).

Most of the fax formats can be opened through the Okular TIFF backend.
