Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux

KDE's file copying progress dialog boxes don't give any form of warning if the user presses the window 'close' button... the copy operation just stops...

This isn't so bad when each operation appears in a single window since it's fairly obvious that you're going to cancel the copy operation by closing the window.

It gets confusing though if you set Konqueror to show all "network operations in a single window" and click on an item in that combined "progress dialog".

When you click an item, you get a regular progress dialog appearing. Since this came from the main progress dialog, it seems to make sense that closing it will only make the progress dialog go away, and not actually stop the copy operation from continuing.

Also, can't this whole thing be combined with KGet? They both seem to do the same thing - manage file operations happening through Konqueror.

Actually... it seems that you can close the whole progress dialog and any regular progress dialogs so there are no icons or file-copying dialogs shown on the screen, but the copying is still going on in the background somewhere - with no way to see its status.

This is now in Plasmshell, and there's no close button.
