Kwrite and Kate:
Missing possibility for selecting the installed input-methods for foreign characters similar like RMB-Menu on text-input fields in konqueror.

See "kedit --inputstyle root" and other options. It works here (kedit 1.3, uim with m17n-zh-py pinyin chinese input and xim-uim bridge with export XMODIFIER=@im=uim).
