Kopete cannot maintaing list of irc servers and netwoks. It's very probable your server/network is not listed. Instead of going through of a painful process adding a new network and then a new server there should be quick and dirty "Enter server here" field on Account Information - Connection page.

The main issue is that an up-to-date list of networks needs to be maintained 
on kopete.kde.org, along with an Import/Export option. Preferably using the 
KNewStuff framework.

If we had this, along with a submission form on kopete.kde.org, the server 
list would never be out of date in theory.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
