Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler:          3.3.4

This bug has been reported as being fixed but it still appears to be broken in 1.3.1. This is the same as "Bug 85377: moving multiple objects, moves everything to somewhere else (normal)."

All the items are snapped to the grid, what's wrong with that?

The original poster is right in that the fix had not been
backported to 1.3.1.
