Xemacs bug - it tries to fight geometry setting from KWin. I've got this problem with every maximised windows in kde (konsole, konqueror...) I don't, so I'm afraid you need to provide more information that just stating that it doesn't work for you. I've got the problem too, on 3.3.2. It appears on every maximized window. Earlier i played around with the windows settings (appearing after title bar -> right click -> extended -> settings for special windows). Maybe it has to do with that? ... I'll look for that in another user account soon. This bug is propably closely related to Bug #53784. Hm, strange... I just set up another testing account. When i logged in for the first time the KDE setup tool appeared (in keramik style and with yellow title bar). Clicking on its - i.e. the first window of the window sequence - maximize button resulted in maximizing the window and keeping a maximize button in the title bar. No minimize button appeared. But clicking on the maximize button again, restored the previous windows size. After clicking through the setup tool i tried to reproduces that behaviour with other windows, to get some screen shots of the behaviour, but it behaved differently then: Maximized Konqueror had no maximize button but the - correct - restore button. Maximized help system window the same. To verify if playing around with the settings for special windows have any effect on the criticized behaviour, i did a setup of the help system window, closed it, restarted it. But apparently that didn't have any effect on the maximize/restore (button) behaviour. Hm, but at least now we know that the misplaced maximize button already appears in a newly set up account, during the KDE setup process. After that it possibly depends on user behaviour. PS: This bug is propably closely related to Bug #53784. This problem MAY have been fixed in xemacs 21.4.17 as the changelog states that "Fix: Make window maximization work under Metacity." I'm using 21.4.17 under metacity at the moment and maximisation works. |
