Description Ryan Saunders 2004-11-11 23:52:37 UTC
Version: 1.12 (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Compiler: gcc 3.4.1
OS: Linux

I have several CDs with one or more tracks that never finish ripping, since I have "skip on error" disabled for the audiocd IOslave. Could you make the ripper timeout after some (configurable) amount of time with no progress? Maybe a dialog that gives me the option to cancel the job, keep trying, or accept an imperfect copy by skipping the error.

Another possibility would be a right-click option for a track that says "rip, skipping errors" that would override the audiocd default of "no skip". Right now, I have to open the audiocd control panel and disable this for when I encounter tracks like these.

yah cdparinoia has a really long default timeout, maybe that should be decreased? I have tried to err on the side of caution sense people rip once and play many times, but... As for modifing on the fly that might be tricky. Need to look into that sense that is done in the kio (some sort of signal to check the config file or something).

I'm not sure, if I'm right here. I have the same problem. CDs with a lot off errors. Some time, they need more then a few days to reed them out. But in the night I wonna go to sleep.
Because of this, I like to pause the ripping. Is it possible to break to ripping and start it at the same position. The files are on the disk. The computer needs only the position on the CD to start from there.

This project is unfortunately no longer maintained.

If a new maintainer wants to step up and take care, the project is archived here:

https://invent.kde.org/unmaintained/kaudiocreator

You can just clone it in your private namespace on invent.kde.org and if you have started to work on it and fixed/implemented something get it reviewed and the project unarchived.

Sorry for the inconveniences.
