On the Summary page, if the New Messages could be configured to report on saved Searches folders in addition to normal mail folders, that would be very useful.  Users could see right in the summary when they have new mail from a certain important correspondant, about a certain project, etc, without filtering into overlapping or excessive folders.

This problem also exists in Kmail 1.12.1 using KDE 4.3.2 installed from Kubuntu-repository.

Would it be more useful to open a new bugreport for KDE4?

I just checked on 4.10. This bug/wish seems to be resolved. 
Maybe someone else can confirm this and close the report?
