Description Anders E. Andersen 2004-10-18 23:36:17 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 3.3.0,  (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-12)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.8

Enable plugins globally and install the flash viewer plugin.

Then add a deny setting for a particular domain. For instance at the moment slashdot.org is running an annoying flash ad from Vonage.

The add is included with this code:

<iframe style='{background-color: #FFFFFF }' id='1' type='content' name='pos1'
SRC='http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5404&alloc_id=11703&site_id=1&request_id=5520627'
width='729' height='90' frameborder='0' border='0' MARGINWIDTH='0'
MARGINHEIGHT='0' SCROLLING='no'></iframe>

So I add a rule to deny flash animations from the host ads.osdn.com.

This setting is ignored.

Anything I can do?
Comment 4 Leo Savernik 2005-02-27 17:26:35 UTC
It should work by blocking the host of the page containing the iframe.
Comment 5 J Appel 2006-09-12 11:58:01 UTC
Is the issue still valid for kde 3.5.4?
Comment 6 Leo Savernik 2006-09-12 15:31:07 UTC
Per-domain settings refer to the containing page.

A workaround is to add your iframes to adblock.

If you can reproduce with current KDE (>= 4.6.4), please reopen.
