Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from:    Compiled From Sources
Compiler:          GCC-3.4.2 Built from source
OS:                Linux

This is really a font issue.

The problem is simple:

With Konqueror, some of the glyphs are displayed as boxes.

With FireFox 1.0PR all glyphs are displayed.

Note that I have these fonts installed:

verdana TrueType
arial TrueType
helvetica Type1

And, I have no idea what the actual problem is.

Not sure I understand why this is a duplicate since my example:

http://www.linuxsir.org/bbs/

does not appear to be SGML.  It claims to be:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

But the W3C validator found 39 errors.

the boxes shouldn't appear if Qt would render with more fallbacks.
