Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)

Hello!

I have problems when doing Reply. Internally, we are using email aliases without domain. So if my colleague sends me e-mail, From looks like:

Marion Prommersberger <marionp>

Now when I reply to this address, automatic address completion occurs:

Marion Prommersberger <marionp>@cadence.com

This is apparently WRONG address. KMAIL should put "@cadence.com" just after name, inside < >.

Could you please fix it?

Thanks a lot!
Jiri

I cannot confirm with 3.5.5.

I've imported the supplied address (after saving it to an .eml file) and pressed Reply.

The To: gets set to "Marion Prommersberger <marionp>". Also after adding the contact with full email address to my Contacts it did not trigger the bug.

Now the question is, if "@cadence.com" should get inserted at all? IMHO not.
Comment 4 Daniel Hahler 2006-10-28 12:24:36 UTC
I've just learnt about the "Default domain" setting in Accounts/Sending.

But IMHO it's good behaviour of KMail to just use the supplied From/Reply-To.

See Bug 136407 for a similar bug, but when creating new mails.
Comment 7 Jiri Hladky 2006-10-30 10:17:39 UTC
HI,

I have just tested with Kmail 1.8.2 (Using KDE 3.4.2) and it's NOT working.

When I hit Reply, I'm getting:

"Marion Prommersberger <marionp>"
So far it's OK. But when I hit sent, it will expand the e-mail address according to DEFAULT DOMAIN (which is cadence.com) to

"Marion Prommersberger @cadence.com <marionp>"

This apparently wrong. It should read
"Marion Prommersberger <marionp@cadence.com>"

Can you please try to specify Default Domain, click reply, click Send and then check how the address was expanded in "Sent mail" folder?

My sent mail is:
