Version:           1.3.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)

The borders and lines in MC are badly shown, instead of a line, little squares, or other simbols are shown, no mutter which size I chose.

I have just RESOLVED the problem by changing the codification to Unicode.

I have same problem. This only occurs on Konsole; other terminals like xterm or gnome terminal work perfectly. 
Debian unstable, KDE 3.3.1 Konsole 1.4.1
