Description Aturo P 2004-09-21 06:41:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

KDE date/time module places my country, Dominica, listed in the drop down box as 'America/Dominica' with AST as it's timezone. This is correct, as an inhabitant of this island from my birth, I can tell you with a large degree of certainty that Dominica is in the EST timezone. In all fairness I think the entire Caribbean is in the EST timezone.

Having the wrong timezone, esp. on my server can be a bit troublesome.

This behavior should be easily noteable by bringing up teh date/time module.

KDE uses the information from the following file
/usr/share/zoneinfo/zone.tab
which comes as part of your operating system (RedHat in your case)
This file is maintained by tz@elsie.nci.nih.gov so I suggest you raise the issue with them.
