In fact I'm not completly exact in the report above, X freeze even if amarok don't play but is only open. Leo, 1) It's highly unlikely that amaroK actually causes these freezes. More likely, amaroK exposes a bug in your X-Server setup. 2) Development on amaroK 1.0.x has stopped. Please try to reproduce the problem with a CVS-Snapshot from http://amarok.kde.org I have just take the CVS snapshot right now, compile it, and... after 2 minutes, complete freeze of X... like every release I have try... My X config was from Mandrake when I used it and now it's mine from gentoo. The config is stable and well tested since month, amarok is the ONLY apps (and I use lot of apps) that have freeze X and every time I use it. The only thing that change it's the time before the freeze... The only things that is possible is a problem with my specific hardware or an nvidia related problem (maybe I will try to compile amarok without opengl to see if there is a difference). I can't test X.org without the nvidia drivers, my laptop screen don't work without it. I have checked CPU and memory use of amarok during the crash, nothing special...but X use 99% of CPU... I have now still try without opengl, and after without some X extensions, nothing change always crash on my dell inspiron 5150. Perhaps you can tell us the last few debug messages shown when you run amarok from a Konsole? *** Bug has been marked as fixed ***. |
