Description Pedro DeRose 2004-09-08 03:34:10 UTC
Version: 1.7 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.3.4
OS: Linux

The "Address Selection" dialog behaves strangely when I select categories
instead of individual accounts in the Address Book list:

1) The To, CC, and BCC buttons remain disabled when I select a single category,
except when that category is "Recent Addresses", in which case they are
enabled and using them adds a single entry with name "Recent Addresses" and
email "<group>" to the right side.

2) If I select two collapsed categories, then the To, CC, and BCC butons become
enabled. Expanding the categories shows that this is because the dialog
treats everything between the two categories as selected (i.e. all the
contacts in the first category are selected). Clicking To confirms this, as
these contacts are all added to the right-hand list.

It seems to me that the proper behavior would be for all contacts in a category
to be selected if the category is selected. Either that, or disable the
selection of categories, since IMHO any other behavior is confusing.

I consider the UIs behaving very logically
