Description Alexandre Bourget 2004-09-06 01:35:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux

Try it out:

Go to the desktop, move an icon, look at the position of the semi-transparent icon you have before leaving the mouse button.

Drop it.

The icon doesn't land where the preview was ?! Why is that ? It seems to recenter in the middle of the cursor or something like that. This behavior was the same in previous 3.x releases.

Please note I have a wacom drawing tablet, but I asked some people to reproduce it and they experienced the same behavior.

It's annoying when you try to fine-tune your icons positions around a circular background, for example.

Confirmed here on kde-3.3.1 on gentoo linux with gcc-3.4.2 and xorg latest release

Hey.. is this reallly difficult to implement ? This would make the desktop so much smoother.. I think Win XP has the same little problem.. but the Mac OS X desktop doesn't.. and I can tell you.. it makes a difference on how smooth your desktop (and this *is* the actual Desktop) experience is.

I'd really like this to be solved!
