Description Jonathan C. Dietrich 2004-09-03 05:18:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

the ability to set up an auto trial response mechanism.. which, when a user wants to request subscription to my presence, they are sent an auto message which tells them that they must respond with a message with a given random set of characters in order to request my presence. if a message is received that is as specified, *then* prompt me for authorization. This would stop most spammers attempts at getting my attention, yet be only a minor pain to real people.

This requires the following capability of protocols:
* To send messages to someone not on your buddies list.

In any case, this may be counter productive. Spammers will be able to validate your account as 'in use'

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
