Can you see if this is still reproducible with the latest KDE? (3.3) Just FYI: I'm away from my computer currently, but will test it on the weekend, hopefully then I'll get the chance to bug my SO about KDE 3.3 ;-) cu nicole Ok, I now have KDE 3.3 and I can honestly say I hate it already... All fonts have changed themselves without me or my SO changing anything and I can't read half my docs because of it... Juk lets me add songs to the other playlist without crashing, but that's not really of any help because as soon as I jump from one song to another by double clicking on the new song my entire system freezes and I have to switch off my computer. So, what do you suggest? Go back to my older version of KDE and find a different player? cu nicole it's been a month and no reply. Will juk ever work again or shall I find a new player? Juk crashes every time I start it, I don't even need to click anything anymore. cu nicole Well, honestly you're using SuSE RPMs, so it's not like when things are fixed that they'll magically work on your system. ;-) At any rate -- I was on vacation for the last three weeks. It sounds like at the moment you're getting a different crash. Is the backtrace the same? *gg* I know they won't magically start working without some work from me, but I did get the latest KDE (3.3) and it just got worse and you didn't reply after that, and I'm not a geek, I'm a housewife and mother ;-) I know all about diapers and cooking and speech development delays, when Juk keeps crashing my system I come here for help. There's no backtrace... it takes the whole system with it. My screen freezes and I have to switch off the computer ans switch it back on :-/ This happens: - when I try to skip songs by doubleclicking a different song - when the playlist is finished It is rather frustrating, but I hear KDE 3.3.1 is out _now_ and I'll hopefully get that installed on the weekend in the hopes that JUK will be back then, because *whispers* XMMS doesn't display the songtitles and artists correctly and that sucks big time. Hope your vacation was nice though :-) |
