Please see my wish list report 88407.  I mentioned that we have very large e-mail folders.  Sometimes we have to do searches to trace a client's history etc.  One of our partners uses Glimpse (he's still using exmh) as a search tool and its very fact.  

I know there are times when the search function on Kmail gets overwhelmed if I have search a large number of messages.  IIRC Glimpse gets around this by building a keyword database.  

Again, it might be useful to put this kind of integration in (like the Spamassassin integration).
