Hi, I forgot to add that I use a Spanish keyboard. Have a nice day! Accents are treated as letters: typing as normal (i.e., the accent and then "a") gives " Both in Lyx and in KWord, accents and letters are typed side by side in the main window only. Dead keys work as usual inside KWord This is probably caused by a bug in the SUSE Qt package (immodule patch). (SUSE BR44633) *** Bug 89796 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Please try the following updated Qt package: http://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.1/base/qt3-3.3.3-15.i586.rpm On 21 Sep 2004 12:49:12 -0000, Waldo Bastian <bastian@kde.org> wrote: > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. > > http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88151 > > > ------- Additional Comments From bastian kde org 2004-09-21 14:49 ------- > Please try the following updated Qt package: > http://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.1/base/qt3-3.3.3-15.i586.rpm > I updated all the packages in several computers and it failed again, this error persist in SuSE distribution thank you *** Bug 90790 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I had the same problem after upgrading kde to kde 3.3 in my Suse 9.0 desktop. I tried to ugrade Qt from Suse's rpm, but it didnt help. The accents only came back after I compiled Qt's libraries from source. I had the same problem with kde 3.3, qt-3.3.3-8 and FEDORA CORE 3. What happen!, this bug is not resolved Jose, Complain, er, report the problem to redhat (bugzilla.redhat.com)... it's the immodule patch they're using that is causing the problem. -- Rex Will I have any problems if I used gnome desktop? Probably Thanks Rex, but I don't understand what can I do to resolve this problem, It's very important for my work I don't know what is the immodule and its patch.... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=141475 I've solved the problem on KOffice (CVS HEAD), but not yet on Lyx. Please have a look at this mail for detail. http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/immodule-qt/2004-December/000649.html I looked at the mails suggested by Kazuki, but, as Jose L. stated, still us mere mortals are unable to figure out what steps to do to solve the problem. I don't understand why it is marked "Resolved". I'm already using SuSE Linux 9.2, still unable to type accents, and have read that this bug has already crippled in other distros, so if someone found a way to solve it, that changed was not committed. Hopefully some day we'll have our accents back, and will have this simple and mundane feature without having to mess into source code... FYI, reported to lyx's upstream bugzilla: http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1830 I had the same problem with kde 3.4.0 / qt3-3.3.4-3.i586.rpm in SuSE 9.2 |
