Well it saves them every time you compile. And besides that it does not crash here (SuSE 9.1), so you have a defective instalation, probably Manrake :) I know; but when doing large changes in a big project I sometimes can't combile for a view hours; This means I either have to save the files manually before next crash of kdevelop or I get in danger. And especially in big projects the crashes happen more often. But I don't know when it crashes. Sometimes it don't crashes for days. Sometimes it crashes every ten minutes. Most times when crashes repeat more often, it helps to recreate the kdevelop project files. But when it is already crashed and my changes are gone I'm not very happy about knowing I have to create a new projectfile... :-( The best would be to have a autosave (e.g. every 3 minutes) like most other IDEs and the problems would get minimized!!! Best regards, Alexander Kuchler Development PR Please reply via the web form at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88011 instead of via mail. Or if you insist in using mail at least delete the tail of the mail. Yes.. You have a point there; Sorry! I would be happy to implement an option in system settings (not sure where it would go, but hey). This option would set a flag saying that all apps should periodically autosave if there have been changes. Then each individual app would have to implement it (not such a big deal, I could do that too). This could be turned off of course, but what I wonder is if this is the kind of things that the kde community wants. I know I do. |
