Description Stefan Bittner 2004-08-25 00:13:54 UTC
Version: 1.1 beta1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-9)
OS: Linux

starting with 1.1 beta1 entries in the Collection and Context vies appear three times.
In the Collection view my sorting order is:
Primary: Artist, Secondary: Album
When I expand the Album in the Collection view, every
track is listed three times.
Similarily in the Context view in Tracks on this Album every track appears 3 times.
Comment 1 Christian Muehlhaeuser 2004-08-25 00:16:22 UTC
already fixed in cvs.

Comment 4 Stefan Bittner 2004-08-25 01:34:05 UTC
The latest CVS snapshot from amarok.kde.org does still contain the bug
Comment 5 Christian Muehlhaeuser 2004-08-25 01:43:15 UTC
yep, latest snapshot might still contain it, it's not yet updated automatically or every night. anyway, fixed in cvs. :-)
Comment 6 Duke Mojoholder 2004-09-17 14:03:08 UTC
beta2 still have this issue - Double entries in "Tracks on this album"
I hope it will be gone in final version
Comment 7 Carsten Lohrke 2004-09-18 22:23:32 UTC
beta2: I have dupes, when sorting by year. e.g. 2x1990, 2x2004, 2xunknown
Comment 8 David Sibai 2004-09-20 02:23:19 UTC
beta2+cvs (20/09): there are still double entries in "Tracks on this album" and a"favorite tracks by this artist" in the context browser, which I suppose are related to this bug,
Apparently it depends on the order the collection is built in.
I had album A in ~/mp3/A and album B in /home/data/B. A had no duplicate entries in the context browser while B did. I swapped A and B (A went to /home/data and B to ~/mp3/), scrapped the collection.db file, and rebuilt the collection. Then A had duplicates and B did not anymore.

Still there in 1.1 final, some entries in the context browser appear twice. I have two mp3 "root directories" (ie /home/a/mp3 and /home/b/mp3 ) and only mp3s in one of them have duplicate entries. See screenshot attached.

Comment 11 Sergio Cambra 2004-10-02 11:45:09 UTC
In 1.1 final some tracks appear twice in "Tracks on this album" if I add the album with Start Scan, but if the album was added by monitor, that doesn't happen.
Comment 12 Dik Takken 2004-10-06 10:41:51 UTC
I'm also running 1.1 Final (Gentoo ebuild) and I get duplicate album entries as well.

This bug is marked 'fixed'. Is it fixed in CVS?
Comment 13 Mathias Homann 2004-10-06 19:31:21 UTC
running 1.1 from suse packages, same here. if album was added by scanning, tracks appear twice in "tracks in this album".
Comment 14 Mark Kretschmann 2004-10-06 19:36:54 UTC
exit amarok
rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc
rm -rf ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok
start amarok
rebuild collection
Comment 15 Gustavo Michels 2004-11-24 03:39:43 UTC
I still have this problem. I am using amarok cvs from 18/11 (to check if issue #93335 had been fixed, which is ok).

As the current cvs source has the cover name change and all my covers got messed up, I did the above rm procedure and rebuilt my collection from scratch.

At first everything was ok, but after a few days adding more albums to the collection, I saw this happening. The entries keep on being added (see attachments).

The only pattern I could find is it only happens whenever the artist has a special character in the name, such as Tiësto or Blue Öyster Cult, which are on the screenshots.

Folder containing the files

As you can see, there's only one file per song. So duplicate entries are wrong.

I have only that folder on the collection.
Comment 19 Jose 2005-04-16 14:46:17 UTC
It still happens to me on version 1.2.3 (Ubuntu build).
In comments 17 and 18 I've sent two screenshots. One showing the amarok duplicate entries. The other shows that there's only one file per song in the folder.
