Description Adam 2004-08-05 23:13:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux

When I have a disk inserted so that it gets mounted on my computer's startup, the icon appears as normal on the desktop. But when I mount my ZIP disk, floppy disk, etc., while already in KDE, no icon appears on the desktop.

In the past, this worked properly, but lately I've noticed this bug.

I did notice that when I mount something, the desktop refreshes (flickers), but the icons don't change.

I do have the option "Show device icons" checked in the Control Center -> Desktop -> Behavior -> Device Icons. I have all the "Mounted" icon options checked except "Mounted Hard Disc Partition", and none of the "Unmounted" options are checked because I only want disks that are actually there to appear on my desktop.

In case it's relevant: I do not use Supermount, but I use KDiskFree in my taskbar to mount/unmount disks.
