Dear developers of kmail's GUI:

I'd suggest to put these options into folder properties dialogue which are now accessible via menu (sorry if retranslations from German differ from international):

[ ] group threaded messages [for this folder]
[ ] close threads by default if
  [ ] read
  [ ] unread (except new)
  [ ] new
[ ] use individual encoding: [UTF-8] (selectable)
[ ] compress Folder

It might be helpfull to assign filter rules and notification actions to folders rather than define them globally.

Hmm... I cannot find those options in the current context menu
