Description Aaron Peterson 2004-07-21 23:20:00 UTC
Version: 4.2 (using KDE KDE 3.2.91)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.4.1 don't think it's this
OS: Linux

I have multiple kwrites open, quite often, so there could be a problem with two windows editing the list

and or, kwrite doesn't list newly saved files in "Open Recent Files"

*****
I had to search for a document I wrote, which took a lot of time. It really scared me that it wasn't listed in the "Open Recent" list.

I'm saying "bug" because this scared the bejesus out of me. I thought my work had been lost, and thought that maybe I was working on a different system... but I don't have another system!

open recent doesn't contain saved files
I think it doesn't store "Saved as" documents in the list of recent files...

I was just going to report this bug, but this is pretty similar too... oh, wait.. haha, I reported this bug!!

anyway, it's a continuing source of frustration... and listing all of the recent files in the open recent would make the new "google like search" functionality for 3.4 or 4 not such a big deal...

It is possible to get information overload if a person opens a lot of docuements... Written docuements are more important than read documents to find... but,

Open recent could have it's current behavior, and two expando menus, recently written, and recently opened...

to help distinguish between authored documents and browsed documents...

KWrite now adds a file to the recent list when you save or save as, as well as when you open/close a file.

If that solves your problem, could you please close this issue?

works good enough for me, really
to sync this over windows is not done in any other kde app ;)
