Description Tim Wunder 2004-07-14 16:39:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux
OS: Linux

Currently using kaudiocreator version 1.0 as supplied by kde-redhat.sf.net for Fedora Core 2.

I'd like to see an option within kaudiocreator to automatically log the user off after all jobs are comlete. Since encoding and ripping take different amounts of time, a large backlog of encoding jobs can be left after ripping several CDs. When doing this late at night beofre bedtime, I;ve taken to leaving my login up, and locked, and then going to bed. When I wake up, I then logoff the system so that others can use it while I'm at work.

It'd be nice to be able to rip a bunch of CDs before going to bed (or work), have a bunch of jobs cued up for encoding, and then click a button to logoff after jobs are complete. That wasy I don't have to remember to lgo myself off later...

I could add an event that would go off when the number of jobs decreases to zero. What do you think? Then you can modify the even to call "shutdown -h now" or any other fun event you would like :)

The only problem is that today was string freeze day so I can't add it. :(

I'd rather just have a logoff button, but it's your app, do whatever you want, as long as I'd be able to automatically log off after all the jobs are done ;-)

"string freeze" just means you can't add new strings, right? Can you still add features if you use existing strings?

This project is unfortunately no longer maintained.

If a new maintainer wants to step up and take care, the project is archived here:

https://invent.kde.org/unmaintained/kaudiocreator

You can just clone it in your private namespace on invent.kde.org and if you have started to work on it and fixed/implemented something get it reviewed and the project unarchived.

Sorry for the inconveniences.
