Version:           2.1pre2 (using KDE 3.2.91 (3.3 beta1), compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.4
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.7

The first time I started this new KDE (compiled from HEAD some hours ago) while KDE was playing startup WAVE file suddenly it muted. I run kmix and all sliders was on 0. Why it doesn't recognize alsa setting?

Thanks for the report. It is really a bug. The issue in this bug report is a duplicate, nut it is hard to find that out. The good thing, that I do now understand bug #69320 correctly.
