I 've just launched kedit from the K menu  and it crashed. No windows appear. I know
that there are other bogue reports on this matter  but the backtrace seems different 
(though I don't understand anything :-)).

KDEinit Launching Sweeper

The error is in usr/bin/sweeper. I'm running it on Manjaro 17.1 current KDE
