Description menschmeier 2004-06-16 08:05:35 UTC
Version:           1.6.1 (using KDE 3.2 BRANCH >= 20040204, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6mdk)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.4

When I got an email, encrypted with my public key key I am not able to read it in kmail. I only can see the encrypted message with the following message:

German:
Verschlüsselte Nachricht (keine Entschlüsselung möglich)
Grund: Kein Passwort

Translated to english this could mean something like:
encrypted message (decrption impossible)
reason: no password

But I never got a dialog to enter the passord.

I think this message is shown if the gpg-agent isn't running or GPG_AGENT_INFO isn't set correctly.

Please verify your installation of the necessary packages (see http://kmail.kde.org/kmail-pgpmime-15-16-howto.html).

Since this is most likely an installation problem and since, moreover, the gpg support has been completely rewritten for KMail 1.7 I close your report as invalid. If you need help with setting up KMail then please contact us on kdepim-users@kde.org.
