Description Ernst de Haan 2004-06-09 10:14:44 UTC
Version: 1.6.2 (using KDE 3.2.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-gentoo-r1

In short: The 'Filter on' input field in the 'Address Selection' dialog should initially get the focus.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Pick a person from your address book you want to send
an email to (in your mind)
2) Compose a new mail in KMail
3) Click on the '...' button next to the 'To:' field

Expected behaviour:
- Be able to type (part of) the name of the person you're
  looking for

Actual behaviour:
- Nothing is given focus, you have to select the 'Filter
  on' field first.

It would be even better if the input field was above the treelist widgets and if the left-side treelist widget would be the next field to receive focus.

Then it would be easy to select an e-mail address by (1) first typing a filter expression (2) then pressing Tab and then (3) selecting an address and (4) pressing Enter.
