Description Janis Blechert 2004-06-07 13:35:53 UTC
Version: 3.2.1 (using KDE 3.2.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-gentoo-r1

what I would like to see is simply rightclick on the systray icon and add a reminder, like 'tea ready in 5 minutes' or something like that, I know that programs exist to deal with such stuff, but it would be far more comfortable if I could just use a program that is loaded anyway, have one alarm/reminder programm for all of KDE and thats it.
Quickly adding events via the contextmenu of the systray icon might be usefull for other people aswell, doesn't take time to load korganizer and stuff...

Their is a program named KTeaTime that allows to set very quickly alarms by system tray("Simply select the type of tea you have, and it will alert you when the tea is ready to drink."): this program uses its ow daemon and its own system tray icon(filling my precious space:( ).
It would be usefull that KOrganizer would provide quick alarm: when U right click on the system tray icon a menu should appear that would allow an alarm to be raised in "3" ,"5" or "Define Now" minutes. This alarm should not be recorded in the calendar or the alarm should be recorded and then deleted when is finished(optional). In the desired time an alarm should be raised with visual and audio elements.

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

No worries. I'm simply moving these from the korgac product to korganizer::reminder . sorry for the noise but I want to have all the reminder bugs located in the same place.

korgac has been replaced by a new reminder daemon, kalendarac,
which does not have a system tray item. For this particular wish,
I recommend KAlarm.
