hi,

I use hindi language in KDE 3.2.x. And I am unable to insert special unicode characters as explained by the www.unicode.org's help/language pdf files. Unicode special characters are represented in Hexadecimal, but kcharselect doesn't have the ability to allow hexadecimal value to unicode characters.

kindly allow hexadecimal 2 unicode character in kcharselect, and if possible allow a keyboard shortcut for quick insertion of the character. Thanks.

Seli: Do you think it's feasible to have support in khotkeys for binding shortcuts to unicode points? Or would it be more appropriate to handle that via kxkb or so?

The problem still exists with KDE 3.3.1, Debian packages.

Until this is fixed, is there any other way to make a keyboard shortcut for German Gänsefüßchen (Unicode 201D and 201E)?

Edit your keyboard layout, or use xmodmap. That part isn't a KDE issue.
