File transfer has been present for a long time in Kopete itself already, however, only the MSN protocol implemented it so far. AFAIK IRC supports DCC and with KDE 3.3 Jabber will also support file transfers. The Jabber plugin did not support file transfers before as there was no common standard for them. Gaim and other clients introduced their own "standards" which I don't think are a good idea and were not supported by our backend either. I don't know what the situation for AIM is, I'll retitle the bug accordingly as it would otherwise be an invalid report. If such a report already exists for AIM, feel free to close as dupe. jabber file transfers are already implemented in CVS, and AIM file transfers are already filed as a seperate bug. I would implement file transfers in OSCAR (AIM & ICQ), but frankly, I don't have the time, and unless somebody steps up to financially support one of the (OSCAR) developers so that they can take the time to do this, it'll be awhile before it gets done. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 75831 *** *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 75831 *** |
