Description gjditchfield 2004-05-24 04:41:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.2.2, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-215-default

ksplash doesn't take font sizes and screen resolution into account. The progress message "Setting up interprocess communication" is a bit too long to fit in the text area at the bottom of the Default and Blue-bend splash screens. If you look at the sample images in the Splash Screen configuration module, you can see that the final "n" is cut off.

On my computer, with KDE configured to use 10 point fonts on a 125 dpi screen, the Ksplash window is relatively narrower, and that message gets cut off after "communic".

I'd be happy if you took out the progress bar to the right of the text message -- the icons above it make it redundant.
