When I follow the PPPD Howto, and connect with a terminal emulator (minicom) and then start pppd manually, then it connects straight away. I've used KKKP on other servers on the big wide Internet with no problems. Seems to be just Windows RAS ! I've noticed many <auth chap MD5> above, and if I connect with Windows, it also says I've authenticated with chap md5 in the dial-up status, but when I set it up manually, I'm using PAP (as far as I can see!).
