Description richard 2004-05-10 04:32:28 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler:          gcc 3.3.3
OS:          Linux

I ran out of disk space on the partition where kmail stores my mail; after kmail (3.2.1) exited (which isn't a very good way to handle the problem, but that's not the bug I'm reporting), it kept segfaulting on startup. Upgrading to kdepim 3.2.2 got me this dialog box on startup:

KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:
Could not sync index file <b>/home/richard/Mail/.inbox.index</b>: Internal error. Please copy down the details and report a bug.

I don't know what the details are supposed to be, but .xsession-errors ends with this:

kmail: stage == Retr
kmail: curMsgData.size() 2998
kmail: Length of message about to get 1924
kio_pop3: Finishing up
kmail: ***setEncryptionState2( ? )
kmail: ***setSignatureState2( ? )
kmail: stage == Retr
kmail: curMsgData.size() 1859
kmail: KMAcctExpPop::slotGetNextMsg was called too often
kmail: Data: <End>
kmail: processRemainingQueuedMessagesAndSaveUidList

another error message

I managed to catch this error message, which appears for a fraction of a second
before the kmail window is replaced by the aforementioned dialog box.
