Version:           3.2.1-44 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:          Linux

This is Suse 9.1 for 32 bit, fully patched at 29 APR'04.
Network connections to Windows shares are supposed to work out of the box now. Samba client is installed + activated in Yast. General network functionality + connections to the W2K box are OK.
Upon clicking the W2K-box in Suse network environment (=Konqueror) the username/pass dialogue appears, after entering these the following error message appears:

"Internal error

please contact bugs....

unknow error handling in stat: the network is unreachable"

But the network is clearly reachable as the network browser listet all machines. Neither machine is running a firewall; The W2K box I am trying to reach is fully patched.
However Konqueror does not crash, I can use the window for something else afterwards.

I have the same problem.  It is consistent across reboots

 I have the same problem. The difference is that I COULD connect to my windows network until I updated KDE via Yast.

Hi,

I've contact SUSE cause this problem. They say its a known problem
in "libsmbclient" and will be patched next time in an Online Update.
