Sentry Crash Report:

Description Amit Shah 2004-04-26 14:14:14 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.2.90 (CVS >= 20040117), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040401)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5

Problems with "next" and "pale gray" color schemes:

- the arrow of drop-down box (eg, konqueror address bar) becomes invisible when the mouse pointer hovers over the address bar or keyboard focus is on it (black arrow on black background)

- If 'apply to non-kde apps' is selected, selected menu entries have black text on black bg (eg, gnucash)

- progress bars that display the percentage done text field is not visible at all times (white against white, black against black), see the start-up KDE splash screen, knode status display while fetching new articles, etc.

- In kde 3.2, not confirmed on CVS HEAD: kontact menu entries have black fonts against a black bg when selected (eg, 'help' is pressed and mouse is dragged over to an entry within the menu list).

using what style? Also, please do not file multiple entries in this bug report, much of this has little to do with each other.
Comment 2 Amit Shah 2004-05-10 09:34:49 UTC
I'm using glow decorations and .NET style.

I think all of them suffer from the same problem: same color for foreground as well as bg color; so I clubbed them all in one.

#1 is a dotNET bug , confirmed
#2 is a krdb bug. Please file separately.
#3 is in the first half a ksplash bug, already filed (and analyzed), don't know about the second half
#4 can not reproduce
Comment 4 Maksim Orlovich 2004-05-11 19:51:54 UTC
Second half of #3 can't be reproduced either.

clee: #1 is definitely a dotNET bug, although I am not sure of what exactly is wrong, since I don't understand your wacky coloring code for the arrow.
Comment 5 Amit Shah 2004-05-13 13:50:57 UTC
To reproduce #4

- In kde 3.2, not confirmed on CVS HEAD: kontact menu entries have black fonts against a black bg when selected (eg, 'help' is pressed and mouse is dragged over to an entry within the menu list).

do this:

In kontact, press the 'check mail' toolbar button and drag the mouse down (without releasing the mouse button) to select one of the email accounts. The 'check mail' text is black on black.

Even when I click on 'check mail' and keep the mouse button pressed, with the focus on 'check mail', the text is blue on black, which is hard to read.

There should be no "black on black" bugs with "classical" KDE 4 (Plasma may have its own bugs there, because it does not use KDE color schemes).
