Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

When I Copy/Paste a bigger Text from Email to kate, sometimes I can't save. kate tells me (in german :-/ ) that it can't save the file because it can't translate all the Unicode-Characters in the file to the chosen charset. I'm using The Gemran Character-Set (IS8859-1) wit Umlauts and sometimes an sz).
The only way I found to work around this, is to copy-paste the content to Kedit, save it there and reopen it with kate. After this, I can easily save it with kate.
It would be great if kate at least would tell, WHICH characters are the Problem, so I could replace it with html-entities.
