Version:           2.0.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler:          gcc (GCC) 3.3.3 20040217 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3, propolice-3.3-7) USE="X gtk gnome alsa php mysql lesstif 3dnow apache2 oggvorbis gd gif dvd dvdrgstreamer"           CFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-mp -Os -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"

When I choose to play a flac file juk plays the file but the end gets cut off (at first I thought maybe a dodgy file , but i tried to play in another arts player and it plays fine.) 

In addition to this the progress indicator which should move from left to right as the song plays just sits to the far right throughout the song

As I mentioned in my mail, this is most likely an aRts issue.  Can you see if it works as expected with i.e. Kaboodle?

You are absolutely right, this issue occurs in both noatun and also kaboodle 
and therefore must be an arts issue ;P

No, I can just switch the component and likely the maintainer of the FLAC aRts plugin will pick this up.

I have the same problem in KDE 3.2.2.

Bug 79054 appears to be similar.
