There is often times no need to bring up the full wizard/dialog box when editing items in the todo list.

This is basically a database editor, with a form view, and a table view. Right now the table view only shows the data, and minimal opportunity to change the content.   If a users sees the data the the user wants to change, ve should be able to click on it and have it do something. 

For columns that are not simple, a limited dialog box could be usefull.

Todo already has some of this capability in the categories section,

I submitted a similar feature request for kalarm that was rejected.  Maybe if the widget were developed to do such things, we could have a database application in koffice, have the functionality in the address book, todo list, and in kalarm, and of course other database type programs.

The current todo view supports in-line editing of almost all displayed data. Simply click twice (no double click tough) on something you want to change, and there you go. Using Tag and Shift-Tab you can cycle through all visible todos.
This should be release with KOrganizer for KDE4.
