Hello all,

It would be very nice if kmail had an option
to fetch mail in the background even when the
kmail UI is closed.

Kmail could include a daemon that fetches mails
at regular intervall even when kmail is closed.
The daemon could even display an icon in the system
tray that indicates the number of mails fetched since
last kmail closure.

The advantage of this daemon would be obvious :
you can always start kmail and read your mails right now.
No time needed to fetch the mail (and filter them with spamassassin which takes so long), all your new mails are already there !

Of course the daemon would just work in the same way that kmail does :
- let the mails on the server if kmail is configured to do so
- use the same time interval to query the pop server as kmail
and so on

Steff

The deamon must work without X

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
