Description Fabiano Sidler 2004-04-01 11:16:50 UTC
Version: 3.0.1 (using KDE 3.2.1, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.3

I don't want all these {Tree, Output] Tool Views to cover my code. So I change to the childframe mode, remove views I do not need and switch back to the IDEAI mode. This works, but if I close KDevelop and start it again, the old Tool Views are showed again.

Err... That toolviews that are removed from sight in ChildFrame mode doesn't appear when you switch back to IDEAl is actually a bug. This is not intended behaviour and as such is hardly a bug that it isn't persistant.

The toolview setup is, at present, not saved/restored. This is known and "intentional" so far as it was seen as more dependable than the buggy restorations mechanism. This was always intended to be fixed though.

But I don't understand what you mean by "the tool views covering your code". A non-open toolview is only the size of a button, and this size isn't available anyway if the toolview isn't there.

Also, you are aware that most of the toolviews are plugins and that these can be unloaded, right? (Se settings -> configure kdevelop -> plugins for global plugins and project -> configure project -> plugins for the plugin setup for the loaded project)

This is essentially a dupe.
