See how the kwalletmanager and kopete icons are sunk (on hover), and the
others (isdn applet, system monitor) are not
This has nothing to do with the systray being an applet. It simply is the way the applet is written. Maybe what you want fixed is part of bug 69833? Well I think the hover-effect should not exist at all, I don't see it's purpose... maybe I lack some knowlegde of kicker. And my initial bg actually tries to explain (I know I suck at explaining) that an application that has a systray icon should simply show it in kicker, without having the need of a separate system-tray applet. I guess there is nobody who doesn't have the system-tray applet running. I think the systray should remain an applet, so that the user can remove it easily.
