Description Michael Brade 2004-03-08 14:45:58 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc-3.3.3
OS: Linux

Just received the following wish: make it possible to handwrite and draw on a note. This seems to be especially useful for touchscreens and tablet PCs.

Maybe we can implement it by using the KSVG engine and translating the cursor movements into SVG commands.

Another thing: maybe text, urls and images can be used with KSVG as
well, so that we can get rid of the current QTextEdit and replace it
completely.

There is an interesting way BasKet (http://basket.kde.org/development.php) author went:

He embeds objects like pictures and links in a sort of a box. The way I understand it, he is planning to make it possible to draw to the picture through a kpaint (sp?) kpart or buy exporting to Kpaint and importing the picture back. Looks a bit busy, with all the UI elements around pictures, but may get the job done.
