I believe you, but without being reproduceable or having a useable backtrace, this bug report isn't worth keeping.

It is reproducable... what information do you need? 
Also if it comes up now all chars in words which are underlined 
have also green or red background.

I cannot reproduce it, nor can anyone else I've asked.

A backtrace, plain and simple. If we can't reproduce it or have a backtrace to at least point us to where the crash is, there is simply no way we can fix it. Keeping a no-information, non-reproduceable bugreport open is just noise. Please don't reopen it unless you can provide a proper backtrace.

That's bug #73672. It's fixed in KDE-3.2.1.
