*** Bug 82120 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** can anybody tell me about the plans of get this feature in a near future??? I really appreciate this on my favorite IM program... Sure it's planned but that's like 0.4 or something but there was/is always something more important to do (like all the contactlist handling which screwed up a lot of contactlists before) and work never started. Due to the limited free-time most Kopete-devel have I will never make any time estimations on when I or somebody else get around adding it (it would just raise wrong expectations). Actually filetransfer used to work in some old version of kopete, maybe that was when icq was still using sim-icq's lib? Confirm last report. It's interesting that file transfer actually works "sometimes" but very rarely. I'm sure that if someone dedicated a few days to this they would be able to solve this bug. Thanks for the confidence, but I can tell you that it's very much harder than it looks. Maybe this might help: icq file transfers are implemented in licq (www.licq.org) which is gpl'd so you can have a look at the code :-) Still no ICQ-filetransfer in version 0.9.0 (KDE 3.3.0) :-( *Makes me one sad puppy.* I feel compelled to point out that you won't see ICQ filetransfers in any version of Kopete until this bug is closed, so i respectfully ask that people quit complaining about them not being there while the bug is still open. *** Bug 94697 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 101903 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** when will we would be able to send file with icq plugin? You will be able to send files with the ICQ plugin when somebody either contributes the code for it, or I can get it written myself. Here's what you can do to help: 1. Do it yourself. I'll gladly provide advice on the protocol specifics. 2. Get somebody else to do it on your behalf. I'll still provide advice to this person on the protocol specifics. 3. Wait for me to do it. It's on my TODO, and is in the top ten of the "items to finish soon section", right after: better error handling, AIM chat rooms, and fix the 30+ bugs currently in the plugin. 4. Hope another person decides to step up and implement it. Again, advice will be provided to those who wish to take this up. Yes, I know you've waited almost a year and a half for it. However, it's not an easy thing to do (and get right). Please be patient, it will be implemented (unless somehow I die before I get it done ;) ). Hi, can any of the 30 bugs be considered Junior Jobs? I've seen some commits related to it but can't find them any more and it's not clear how far it went but I believe there's already something functional. Kopete really should support OSCAR. oscar filetransfers currently work best between kopete and gaim; there are some issues with the official clients that I was planning to tackle in september.. then december.. then january... school has completely taken over my life to an extent I didn't think possible, so I don't know when I'll be able to get those problems fixed. :( if anyone else wants to try to tackle this, they're welcome to help out... ok, seriously, the last comment especially was not needed. Regarding comment #22, we're working on it. There's been coverage of the feature in the KDE Commit Digest, and while file transfers haven't been fully finished, some progress is better than none, wouldn't you agree? and in comment #25, when I said "last comment", i meant comment #23. We don't need people making jokes about this, we need people helping. Helping to code and helping to test. Posting lame jokes to bug reports because you're trying to be funny is not cool. So like drugs, just don't do it. Marc, instead, you could get off your butt and help us code it or even better would be to fix the already existing bugs in code you've already written. *** Bug 145153 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 153792 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Oscar filetransfer now appears to be working in KDE 4. true it seems to be working in kde4 but from what i saw is that still the status bar (e.g. file size, transfer speed, etc..) are still NOT shown. would this be hard to implement? it would be quite useful to know how large the file is, and how long it will take till the transfer has finished....etc... (like KGET) cheers for working on it! ICQ file transfer works in KDE4. It makes me seriously considering doing the switch finally.. ;) Which dependencies are involved in getting that to work? The minimum are kdelibs, kdebase(runtime) and kdepimlibs from KDE4. I'm closing this as file transfer is in KDE 4.1, file size, transfer speed, etc.. are in KDE 4.2, IM images are there too for long time. If there is still some missing features please fill new wish. |
