Description Florian G. Pflug 2004-02-15 16:48:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

The "Info Center" (kinfocenter) help text for the smb protocoll says that kio_smb is based on smbclient, and needs samba installed to work corretcly. I believe that this is wrong for kde 3.2, since kio_smb is supposed to use libsmbclient now.
Comment 1 Stephan Kulow 2004-02-15 22:54:27 UTC
well, there are still two of them ;(
Comment 2 Alexander Neundorf 2004-02-17 21:27:05 UTC
I'd say we just need to change the text a bit, the rest should be ok.
Can I do this in the 3.2 branch (it would actually be fixing a wrong text) ?

I guess one day we will declare my ioslave obsolete...

Bye
Alex

Come on, it doesn't work so bad. It has problems with non-standard characters,
and that's about it.

Bye
Alex

the bugs in it aren't my concern. The support nightmare is ;(
Comment 6 Stephan Kulow 2004-07-27 10:19:33 UTC
ok, now smbro was removed. So the text is indeed wrong now, but we will change it only after the message freeze runs out (i.e. KDE 4.0 :)
