Description Teemu Autto 2004-02-13 00:08:15 UTC
Version: 0.8.2 and Mplayer 1.0pre3 from http://packman.links2linux.de (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: 3.3.1 SuSEs default
OS: Linux

None of IBM TV-spots doesn't seem to work at: http://www-306.ibm.com/e-business/doc/content/ondemand/tvspot.html
First it checks plug-in (wmplayer/quicktime/realplay) using javascript. I personally own copy of crossover plug-in, so I got round of it nicely. But when kmplayer starts (yes, I prefer kmplayer more than quicktime, wmplayer or realplayer), it exists quickly showing:
"Connected to server: play.rbn.com
QuickTime/MOV file format detected.
Exiting... (End of file)".
Its probably more or less MPlayer "bug", but if you managed to cheat those javascript things, that would be a bit progress.
Btw, as modem user, some quicktime style progressmeter showing buffer status, would be cool too.

The "xxx player not installed" error page is due to a more general deficit of KDE. Plugin don't show up in the navigator.plugins array other then nsplugins.

I don't understand why the players don't play the stream, kxineplayer fi does dereference the url to a valid stream url, but fails to play it in the end.

You should see the cache fill in the status bar of konqueror, I haven't made any plans to make a fancy progress meter. Maybe others that will...

Fixed 0.8.2 (realplay in 0.8.3rc1) + kde-3.2.2
